What I offer

I’m offering a commission-based layout and typesetting service. You can find printers that will make short runs for your book, as little as just one copy. However, there’s a lot of finicky work involved in getting the story from the screen to paper. If you don’t have the time or inclination to do it yourself, this service is for you.

I work mainly with independent presses, self-published authors, and fanfiction writers wanting to book bind their stories.

How does this work?

• You get in touch with me.
• We discuss what you would like, what your preferences are, and what schedule you require.
• Once we agree on the project, I’ll give you a quote and ask for 50% of the cost as a deposit. (See below for prices)
• Once we have an agreement, you send me a file containing your story. You may also send multiple short stories if making an anthology or multiple files — I understand that every project is unique and we can discuss the details to suit your needs.
• When I have your file, I get to work. Throughout this process, I will remain in contact with you, sending you back a few rounds of revisions to make sure you’re happy with the overall result.
• When we’re both satisfied I send you back a proper print-ready PDF to use with the print-on-demand provider of your choice.

What I do

• Layout and typesetting for stories, collections of short stories, poetry, and other written works.
• Layout and typesetting for art books so long as the art is all yours OR I have confirmation that all artists involved are in agreement with the project.
• Covers, either text only (plain background) or with art. Note that you’ll have to provide the art or images.

What I don’t do

• Editing. Neither global editing (beta reading) or copy editing (SPaG). Text sent to me gets set exactly as is. Please make sure you’re happy with the content before we start.
• Anything involving sexualisation of minors. Not in art, not in text.
• The physical printing and binding of the text. You will be receiving a pdf file.

How much does this cost?

Prices depend on the length of the work. The more words, the more time I need to work it over. The amounts below are starting prices and will vary by project. I will get you a customized quote after we start talking.

Interior layout and typesetting
(non-commercial projects):

• Typeset cover (plain background) : 50$
• Wraparound cover or other graphic design : 80$

*make sure all images provided are royalty free and/or that you have permission from the artist.
